The following is a collection of resources that can provide support for wellness, mental health and substance use health.

Carleton University

Carleton Wellness Navigator is a tool that can be used for direction to various wellness resources for students based on unique support needs.

All People All Pathways: Peer Support is a partnered initiative between Carleton University and CAPSA (Community Addictions Peer Support Association) bringing weekly support meetings to university students affected with substance use and addiction facilitated by individuals with living/lived experience. Meetings are Mondays from 7:30-8:30pm on Zoom.

Empower Me is a confidential support service available 24/7, 365 days a year that provides easy access to a diverse range of mental health supports and resources.

From Intention to Action (FITA) is a program that allows students to meet 1-on-1 with a coordinator to work through stress management strategies and develop coping skills through supportive counselling.

Health and Counselling Services gives students access to medical and mental health services on campus.

The Umbrella Project is Carleton University’s Harm Reduction strategy which aims to reduce stigma and promote safer substance use through education, outreach and support.

Ottawa Community

Community Addictions Peer Support Association – All People All Pathways: Peer Support meetings provide a safe space for individuals questioning their relationship with substances to ask questions, seek help or get advice. These meetings are not specifically tailored to students but offer more options of meeting times for those seeking support.

Distress Centre of Ottawa and Region is an organization that provides 24/7 support to a range of mental health services including crisis intervention, emotional support, referral and education services.

Good2Talk is accessible 24/7 via providing targeted support to post-secondary students through call or text with a professional or online via peer support groups.

Ottawa Public Health – Substance Use Health provides educational resources to stay informed and educated about substance use health guidelines.

988 Suicide Crisis Helpline can put you in contact with a crisis responder via text or call at one of nearly 40 local, provincial, territorial, and national crisis lines, who co-deliver 24/7 support.
